An, Ann, n Anny Chapter 1

Author's Note: Personally, the first time I had my period, it didn't really hurt at all. From then on, however, most of my periods have terrible aching cramps that can make me cry. I've heard, however, that some girls have bad cramps when they get their periods for the first time. Every girl is unique, I imagine. So … if this seems unrealistic … please remember that I'm not a doctor, and this fanfiction is based on VampireMeerkat's alternate universe based on the cartoon Ed, Edd, n Eddy. The cartoon itself is insane at times.

Also, please forgive any spelling mistakes or grammar issues … and if I accidentally refer to the characters as their original male versions … I apologize.



The screams of the young girls cut through the still air like a chopping knife through butter. A tall, slatternly looking girl named An literally carried her two companions as she ran as fast as she could down the sidewalk. One girl she held was Anny, a very short person with long pale hair. The other girl was not as short as the former, but still small and delicate, named Ann but called Double N. Behind them the amused and almost sadistic jeers of three boys provided additional skips in the heartbeats of the girls.

"Oooooooooh Tater Tot!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tee called out. He was their leader, a seemingly cruel redhead with a deep voice. To the girls he sounded like a demon from the pits of hell. Almost poetically, his favorite was Anny, who in a way was the leader of the three girls.

"Big An!!! Where'ya goin' Big An?!" That was from Jay, the bucktoothed blond boy. He was every bit as scary as his brothers, despite the fact that occasionally he showed a softer side. This softer side was appropriate, because his aggressive affections were targeted toward the gentle and caring An.

"Come back here Muffin!!" Larie was often considered to be the most handsome of the three boys, but he was just as terrifying as Tee. His strangely blue hair showed his natural pride, which was the opposite of Double N, who kept a ski cap over her hair. That was a bit funny, since Double N was the object of Larie's desire.

"I'm not in my happy place Double N!" An cried to Double N. It was a common thing for her to say when she was frightened or uncomfortable.

Anny screamed at An, "Go faster!!!!"

All they had wanted was to take a leisurely stroll by the brown picket fence, and then the Kanker Brothers appeared. An managed to get to the cul-de-sac, where some of the neighborhood kids were playing outside and enjoying their day. Unfortunately An tripped because of the loose laces of one of her shoes, and she fell. Anny and Double N fell as a result. The three girls landed in the center of the circular pavement shape. Sam, An's hot headed little brother, was in their backyard and he gave the his sister a mildly irritated expression. He asked, "What are you up to?"

Sam's dear friend Jamie screamed and grabbed Sam's hand. "The Kankers are coming!" All of the children hid in their houses, and the Ans would have hidden too, if the Kankers hadn't already caught up with them. The girls screamed and kicked, but the boys were very strong. Perhaps the very strong An could have done some damage if she applied more force, but she was just as afraid as her friends, and her heart was so very tender. Fighting was, shockingly, not in her nature.

Jay grabbed An's wrists and held them behind her back. "Hey there Big An," he said with his playful voice, "Did you miss me?"

"AN NO WANT!!!!!!!" An replied. When Jay made kissing sounds An screamed, "NO KISSES FOR AN!!!!!!!!!!"

Tee literally picked up Anny by her waist and tried to snuggle her like she was a teddy bear. "You're such a cute little baby! I bet you'd love some kisses!" Poor Anny screamed, and when Anny screamed the whole neighborhood heard. Accustomed to it to a certain extent, Tee only laughed and nuzzled the top of Anny's head.

Larie didn't have to provide very much restraint, because physically Double N was a delicate flower. He didn't bother defending himself from Double N's pathetic strikes to his shoulders and chest. Poor little thing was too peaceful to ever hit anyone in the face. He used one hand to grip her shoulder and the other to grip her waist. Then he leaned in to force a kiss. Suddenly Double N's face turned into a horrified expression, which would not have bothered Larie because such emotion from her was typical, but there was something wrong. Her mouth twisted in pain. Her eyes watered. She made a small wail. Larie stopped moving his head in, but he examined her face. Odd … her body was slackening; she wasn't fighting anymore. Then Double N reached down to press her hands to her abdomen, and she wept.

The other boys noticed, pausing as they restrained their "girlfriends." Tee asked, sounding suspicious, "Larie, what did you do to her?"

"Nothing yet!" snapped Larie. His expression softened a little as he cooed to Double N, "Muffin?"

Suddenly Double N made a high pitched scream and then hollered out, "I'M DYING!!!!!!!!!!!!" Larie dropped her as if she was poisonous and stepped away.

An joined in the agony, "Is Double N going to be no more? Say it ain't so!!!!!!!!" She cried and tried to run to her friend, but Jay still held her tight.

"She's faking it," Jay said, "Larie said he didn't do anything to her."

Anny was shockingly quiet. She stared at Double N with pure confusion and worry on her face. "An, I think she's really hurt."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" An shrieked.

Double N fell to her knees, her back curved. "My abdomen!!!!!!!"

Larie raised an eyebrow. "Girls don't have abs."

"Not abs! You idiot!" Double N shot him a livid but tortured look. "My abdomen! My … my tummy! I feel like something is stretching it!" She started taking shallow breaths, calming herself. The boys watched, fascinated, and not sure of what to do. Double N gritted her teeth, something like a snarl forming on her face. The gap between her two front teeth looked less adorable than it usually did.

A voice shouted, "Who dares interrupt the quiet lazy relaxing time of the daughter of a shepherd?!" Rachel emerged from her house, looking irritated. She studied the scene from the front stoop. "Kanker Boys?" He started to retreat, but he saw that Double N was in obvious pain. Now, Rachel had often beaten the An girls up on a number of occasions, but Rachel was still a forgiving and friendly person, and she did not think it would be honorable for the daughter of a shepherd to allow a person to suffer any more than needed. "What ails Double N An Girl?" She ran up to Double N and crouched down to her level.

"Rachel?" Double N said weakly.

"You are in pain, yes?" Rachel tilted her head as she looked at her. "Is rowdy rough blue haired Kanker boy responsible?"

"I didn't do anything!" Larie fairly screamed. He stomped his foot. "I have a name; it's Larie!"

"My abdomen … terrible cramps! Pain! Feeling weak!" Double N was whining at that point. "Pain! And … and … I feel like … I feel like I need to use a bathroom!"

For a few long seconds Rachel stared at Double N, absorbing the information. The Kanker boys kept looking at each other, eyes wide. An and Anny took advantage of their distracted captors and escaped. They ran to Double N and fussed over her. "Don't hug her, An," warned Anny, "You'll make it worse."

That statement just made An cry even more. Rachel and the other two An Girls helped Double N to her feet. Rachel said gently, "Come into my house. I will warm your stomach with a bowl of Mama's squid stew." The girls all went inside Rachel's home, leaving three very surprised Kankers outside.

Tee puffed out his chest a bit. "Come one boys! We gotta make sure our girls are okay!"

"But only one's sick," Jay pointed out.

Tee shoved him to the ground. "Stupid! One Kanker gets messed with, we all gotta help 'cause it's like we all got messed with!"

Not quite getting it, Jay licked the corner of his mouth and them pursed his lips. "Whaddya mean?"

Larie rolled his eyes. "If one of our girls gets hurt, it's like all of them get hurt, so we all have to look out for them. We're Kankers."

"Oh! Okay!" Jay got up and grinned. "Let's peek through the window."

"Why not just go inside, Stupid?" Tee argued.

"Well … if we go in now," Jay said hesitantly, as if he was figuring it out as he spoke, "it would be like … like when you kick someone in the balls, and then while they are down you kick them in their stomach."

Larie shuddered. "Ouch … that freaking hurts!"

Tee shrugged. "Well, let's look through a window."
